About Us

Richard Wood of Richard Wood Associates

Richard Wood Associates was formed in 2016 drawing on over 30 years planning, transport and management experience.

Our range and depth of expertise provides the foundations for working with Councils, groups of local authorities, partnership bodies, landowners, and transport operators. We work closely with our clients and their stakeholders, to achieve objectives and add value along the way.

We keep a focus on the bigger picture of what we are all trying to achieve.

Patterns of development, deliverable sites, growth & infrastructure plans and investment cases are all about creating successful and sustainable places and communities.

The challenges and opportunities for development, infrastructure investment and resource management are wide-ranging.

They include the need to:

  • support inclusive economic growth &
  • regeneration;
  • achieve well-designed & healthy environments;
  • reduce carbon emissions;
  • address & adapt to climate change;
  • protect and enhance natural, built & cultural assets;
  • and support better transport & digital connectivity.

We recognise the need to understand these different drivers of change, join up different policy imperatives and look at the short, medium & long term.

Senior level public and private sector experience brings a broad and balanced perspective to our approach.

What we can do for you

Extensive local and infrastructure planning experience also provides a key insight on the effectiveness and delivery of strategic plans.
